Catholics At The Capitol Intern

Are you looking to learn more about the intersection of your Catholic faith with policy and society, while building your communications skill-set in a professional environment? Consider interning with the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota. We’re on the cutting edge of of advocacy, evangelization, and government relations and are looking for talented and enthusiastic interns to join us.

The Catholics at the Capitol intern will contribute to MCC’s apostolate by aiding our efforts to form and inform Minnesota Catholics at our bi-annual event. Various projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the promotion of “CatCap”
  • Outreach to Catholic parishes and organizations across the state
  • Assisting with scheduling of legislative meetings
  • Updating documents to be distributed to attendees
  • Organizing inventory and conference supplies
  • Database and advocacy platform maintenance
  • Brand identity enhancement
  • Writing and editing
  • Social Media support
  • Special projects as requested

The internship is meant to be a positive experience for you. MCC will provide you with meaningful opportunities to put your strengths into action, while also offering professional development and opportunities for growth across the board.

Catholics at the Capitol takes place on April 15, 2021. The internship will last through the end of April.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates will have a deep interest in and commitment to the Catholic faith, particularly as it applies to politics and society; will possesses communications skills and abilities in at least some of the aforementioned areas (and a desire to grow in others); and will bring a track record of hard work, creativity, and positivity.

PAY/HOURS

The internship is unpaid, though a stiped may be offered at its conclusion. Interns are expected to work a consistent weekly schedule, but time, hours, and duration are negotiable.

Communications Intern

Communications interns will contribute to MCC’s apostolate by aiding our efforts to communicate the Church’s social vision and advocacy efforts to a variety of audiences, including Minnesota Catholics, the state legislature, and the media. Communications interns will contribute to the daily and ongoing communications needs of MCC, while also working on special projects in any number of the following areas:

  • Podcast/Radio Production & Editing
  • Website design and development
  • Brand identity enhancement
  • Videography & Editing
  • Press relations
  • Writing and editing
  • Social media strategy and innovation
  • Graphic design
  • Database and advocacy platform reorganization
  • Young adult outreach
