Physician-Assisted Suicide and False Compassion
April 17, 2016 @ 10:00 am

Physician-assisted suicide is legal in five states, and interest groups have targeted Minnesota to be next on the list. A bill that sought to legalize physician-assisted suicide in our state was stopped earlier this year, but this dangerous piece of legislation will certainly be back again soon, masquerading under the guise of “mercy” and “compassion.”
Jason Adkins, executive director of the Minnesota Catholic Conference, shares what Catholics need to know about this dangerous practice, and how we can prepare ourselves to withstand the next push. His talk will underscore the Catholic understanding of human dignity and authentic mercy, the risks posed by physician-assisted suicide legislation, and effective ways of speaking about the issue.
There will be two opportunities to hear this presentation: after the 9 AM Mass and after the 11 AM Mass.
