The Advocacy Hour

***Due to COVID-19, The Advocacy Hour has been cancelled.***

The Advocacy Hour:

Your opportunity to advocate for life & dignity!
Take one hour of your day to be a Catholic voice at the Capitol on Wednesday, May 6

Stop by the Capitol anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to speak with your legislators AND spend time in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in a private room at the Capitol!

Take one hour of your day to become informed on the issues, interact with your legislators, and intercede for them in prayer!

Not sure where to begin, how to speak with your legislators, what issues to bring up? You can also attend any of our brief “Lobbying 101” talks given by MCC staff at 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM in the Capitol Vault.

*Registration is not required, but it will help us plan in order to have enough materials on hand. By registering, you are not committing to an entire day; you can still drop in at any time.

Watch the first video above to hear from lay Catholics who provide their perspective on advocating for life and dignity. Then, watch the Inside the Capitol episode (from 2018) that explains what a lobbyist does.

Logistics for The Advocacy Hour:

For more information on parking and transportation near the Capitol, visit: www.mnhs.org/capitol/visit/directions

When you arrive at the Capitol, come check in with MCC staff in the Capitol’s basement L’Etoile du Nord Vault room. Our staff can then direct you to the private Adoration room, help you find your legislators, and provide suggestions on which bill(s) would be most important to address with your specific legislator. You can then choose which issues to speak about with your legislators.
