Saint Paul, Minn. – On Friday, February 7, 2025, the eight bishops of Minnesota who constitute the membership of the Minnesota Catholic Conference issued the following statement on immigration law and respect for migrants and the common good of the nation.

Saint Paul, Minn. – As the Minnesota Legislature begins a new biennium, the Catholic bishops of Minnesota in a unified voice call on Governor Walz and legislative leaders to refrain from legalizing online sports betting. Citing troubling national and international data on the harmful effects of online gambling, the bishops highlight the devastating social, financial, and public health consequences that could follow such legislation. The letter warns that expanding gambling in this form would create significant risks for Minnesota families while offering minimal benefits to the state.

June 24, 2022Along with women and men across our nation who respect the inherent dignity of each human life, the Catholic bishops of Minnesota give thanks to God on this historic day as the Supreme Court ends the injustice of the Roe v. Wade decision. We are grateful that the Supreme Court has returned to state Legislatures and federal officials the ability to protect preborn children and save mothers and fathers from the untold pain of abortion.
