Capitol Thursdays

Capitol Thursday is an outreach initiative designed to engage Catholics, improve your understanding of the Minnesota Catholic Conference’s (MCC) public policy initiatives, and help build relationships with your state legislators.

Join the Minnesota Catholic Conference Staff any 2nd or 4th Thursday at 10:00 AM. Please RSVP no later than noon the Wednesday before your desired visit so that we can help facilitate a meeting with your legislators.

Plan to park in MCC’s building lot located at 525 Park Street in St. Paul. An MCC staff member will meet you at the main office door at 10:00 AM.

After a brief overview of the legislative process and MCC’s policy agenda, we will walk over to the State Capitol and do a quick orientation about where to find legislators and then observe a floor debate to gain a better idea of how the legislature functions.

Next, we will meet with either your state senator or representative which will give you an opportunity to build a relationship with your legislator and share MCC’s policy priorities.

Finally, before ending our visit at 11:30 AM, we will debrief our legislative meeting, answer questions, and discuss the next steps to stay engaged with your legislators.
