Fruits of the Vine

The Catholic Church in Minnesota has long been a cornerstone of community support, providing essential services that uplift lives and strengthen society. Fruits of the Vine: The Economic Impact of the Catholic Church in Minnesota quantifies the Church’s economic contributions, demonstrating how its healthcare facilities, schools, and social services bolster financial and social stability. Rooted in faith, these ministries serve all Minnesotans, addressing critical needs where government resources fall short.

With an economic impact exceeding $5 billion, the Church creates jobs, supports businesses, and reduces social costs, fostering a thriving state. While governments often incentivize industries to achieve such outcomes, the Church seeks only the freedom to serve in alignment with its values.

Commissioned by the Minnesota Catholic Conference and brought to life through the dedicated work of researchers Anna Faria and Grant Clayton from the University of Colorado and associated with the Institute for Policy Research at The Catholic University of America. Thank you to the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota for generously supporting this endeavor.
