Please join with us to Stand Up for Religious Freedom on Friday, June 8 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the U.S. Courthouse at 300 South 4th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
The rally is a public response to threats to religious freedoms and conscience rights, most specifically from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services “Preventive Services Mandate.” The rally will support healthcare legislation that protects religious liberty, the rights of conscience and does not fund abortion.
The rally, which is being done in conjunction with dozens of others nationwide, aims to raise awareness of the emerging challenges to conscience rights and religious liberty. The prior event, on March 23, featured leaders from diverse faith communities and was attended by more than 2500 people. We hope to make this event a similar success and build momentum for political leaders to reconsider the HHS mandate and similar unwise policies.
Bishop John LeVoir of New Ulm will attend on June 8. He will lead prayer and share some remarks, along with other speakers. The Minnesota Catholic Conference has negotiated a group rate on buses through the First Student bus corporation. Parishes can rent a bus to transport people to and from the federal courthouse in Minneapolis.
