Full Legislature - Oppose H.F. 91 / S.F. 70

A radical abortion bill is being stalled at the Capitol. Send your legislators a message now and talk to them in person at United for Life on 2/28!

The Minnesota legislature is trying to push another abortion bill (H.F. 91 / S.F. 70) that removes the guardrails to abortion in our state. But the swift pace is slowing down. Spread the word and speak up now!

H.F. 91 and its companion, S.F. 70, are expansive bills that remove nearly all the health and safety protections for women seeking an abortion, including for minors. These include:

  1. The parental notification requirement for minors seeking abortions;
  2. Woman’s Right to Know;
  3. State abortion data collection;
  4. The 24-hour waiting period between appointment and procedure;
  5. The hospital requirement for abortions after the first trimester;
  6. The ban on non-physicians performing abortions;
  7. The limitations on state funding of abortion outside what is constitutionally required in medical assistance; and
  8. The Born-Alive Infant Protection Act, which requires medical care be given to those babies who survive a botched abortion.

In addition, H.F. 91 and S.F. 70 remove all of the abortion reporting requirements. These reports share valuable data that helps us address economic and racial disparities for pregnant Minnesotans. For example, the 2021 abortion report reveals that nearly 13 percent of abortions were procured for economic reasons. We can also see, from comparing various MDH reports, that nearly 25 percent of black pregnancies end in abortion, compared to only 9 percent of white pregnancies. With that knowledge, we can now address the economic and racial disparities for pregnant Minnesotans and truly walk with mothers in need.

While the PRO Act guaranteed a fundamental right to and abortion and put no limitations on it, this bill removes all remaining safeguards in existing law.

It is a disservice and insult to Minnesotans, especially to those who are pro-life and do not want to comply with paying more in taxes to fund the abortion industry.

What MCC has done so far (Resources/Testimony):

Now we need YOUR voice to stop this bill.

H.F. 91 / S.F. 70 is a direct attack on life:

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2258) states "Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being."

Act Now:

Urge your legislators to vote NO on H.F. 91 and S.F. 70 and to take a stand against the abortion industry in our state!

If you have...

One Minute: Send a message to your legislators urging them to protect girls, women, and unborn babies.

Three Minutes: After sending your elected officials a quick email, take another minute to call their office or send a video message. A suggested script and talking points will show up on your device. Legislators do not often get calls from their constituents, so a follow-up call or video will greatly increase your impact and further build your relationship.

More Time: If you have minor daughters, we encourage you to join the MOMS Association (Mothers Offering Maternal Support), which is standing up for parental rights and commonsense health and safety protections in the courts. To join or learn more, you can email [email protected].
